Record Group: 5 C Record Sub-Group: 13 Records Title: UMC; College of Human Environmental Sciences; Dean's Office; Campbell-Harrison House Records Dates: 1936-1989 Volume: 1 and 1/6 cubic feet, 1.46 linear feet Scope and Content Note (A94-85) This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Human Environmental Sciences (formerly the College of Home Economics) Dean's Office. Included in the Sub-Group are materials concerning the "Home Management House" established by Mabel Campbell and Florence Harrison in 1936. This house was organized to give students who could not afford regular housing expenses the opportunity to attend the University of Missouri. At different times, several different residences were used as the Home Management House. In 1950 the house was incorporated as the Campbell-Harrison House in honor of the two founders. After closing in 1988, the house was sold and the funds were used to provide scholarships for Home Economics students. Materials in this Sub-Group include a motion picture film entitled, "A Live In Classroom," as well as short histories of the house, a house constitution and by-laws, financial records, records concerning dissolution of the house, alumni information, applications for membership, lodging agreements, and a chalk drawing of the house.
