This Record Sub-Group contains records of the Ellis Fischel State Cancer Hospital (1940-1995). Included in this Record Sub-Group are annual reports, (1940-1989), working files from the Goodrick litigation, grant applications and proposals, pre-merger documents, a history of Ellis Fischel, Administrative Council documentation, (1990-1993), Ellis Fischel Advisory Board documentation, (1991-1995), and meeting minutes of the Management Transition Team (06/1990-09/1991). Pre-merger documents include assessment studies, an inventory, financial statements, summaries, survey responses, consultant reports, and documents related to work done by outside firm of Looram & Associates (1990-1991).

Historical Note:
Named after Dr. Ellis Fischel, a physician who envisioned a statewide plan for controlling cancer, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center was dedicated on April 26th 1940 as the first cancer center west of the Mississippi River. In 1990, Ellis Fischel became a partner with the University of Missouri Health Sciences Center.
