Contained in this Sub-Group are reports, correspondence, memoranda, department promotional materials, and data forms pertaining to the Student Involvement Record Program (SIR). SIR was a short-lived program that used computers to compare a student's self-assessed personal skills with professional entry-level skill requirements. A co-curricular transcript could then be developed using out-of-class experiences to illustrate skill knowledge and competencies. Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files.
