Scope and Content Note
This Sub-Group contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Extension Division. Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence files, general administrative files, general subject files, legislation materials, pamphlets, reports, speech texts, meeting minutes, evaluations, program files and planning materials.
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:18/1/1 and C:18/1/NP (A93-32)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Extension Division Director's Office, (1955-1968, 1973-1982, 1987). Included in this Series are correspondence files, general administrative files, general subject files, federal and state legislation, pamphlets, reports, speech texts, meeting minutes, program files, UMC Extension evaluations, Leadership Training School files, program planning materials, and records relating to federal Rural Area Development projects, and foreign rural development programs.

Series 2. - C:18/1/NP (A00-101; A01-35)
This Series contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Extension Administration, (1985-1987, 1990-1995). Included in the Series are annual state enrollment reports (#ES237) by region documenting participation in 4-H classes and programs, and annual reports and statistics.

Series 3. - C:18/1/NP (A01-36)
This Series contains 4-H event and program files created by the University Extension Division, (1967-1992). The files consist of photographs, negatives, slides, and contact sheets, correspondence and memoranda, and reports. This Series includes images of J.C. Penney and production records of The Never-Ending Season, a fund-raising cookbook.

Series 4. - C:18/1/2 (A02-20)
This Series contains records created by Extension Administration
of University Extension Division, (1994-2000). This Series includes quarterly
reports, evaluations, "Beginning Project" (an educational program for teen parents) documentation,
committee minutes, grant proposals, and correspondence, (1994-1996). Also included
in this Series are Missouri 4-H development programs' annual enrollment ES237 reports.
Data for the reports are arranged by region and county and consist of various program
and enrollment statistics, (1996-2000).

Series 5. - C:18/1/3 (A07-75)
This Series contains records created or received by the 4-H Youth Programs of University Extension, (1970, 1983-1987, 1998-2001). The records consist mostly of photographic prints and slides pertaining to the International 4-H Youth Exchange and other international activities of 4-H. Also included is a report on the Wider Horizons Program.

Student records are held as confidential under the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and by University policy. Faculty promotion and tenure records and Academic Personnel files are restricted for 75 years, or the lifetime of the individual. All grievance, disciplinary, and medical records are treated as confidential files. Consultations with legal counsel, both in-house and external, are protected by the attorney/client privilege and will not be released.
