Scope and Content Note

This Sub-Group holds records of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine's School of Health Related Professions. Though the School of Health Related Professions was a largely independent administrative unit, its Director reported to the Dean of the School of Medicine. Included in this Record Group are committee meeting minutes, correspondence, graduation lists, course proposals, grant information, long-term care data, nursing home information, and records relating to the Midwest Council for Social Research, in-home care, respite care, and independent living grants. Also included in the Sub-Group are gerontology conference reports and records pertaining to the Center for the Study of Aging, Alzheimer's disease, Canadian health care, gerontology extension, food banks, and rural geriatric education.

Series 1. - C:14/37/1 (A90-60)
This Series contains UMC School of Health Related Professions administrative records (ca. 1976-1983). Included in this Series are correspondence files, graduation lists, course proposals, and meeting minutes of the School of Health Related Professions Coordinating Council and Curriculum Committee.

Series 2. - C:14/37/NP (A97-51; A98-17; A01-39)
This Series contains administrative records of the UMC School of Health Related Professions' Center for Aging Studies (CAS) (1975-1994). The records consist of correspondence, project and program files, manuals, reports, and grant materials. Topics within this Series include long-term care, the Midwest Council for Social Research, in-home care, respite care and advanced respite care training, Alzheimer's disease, Elderhostel options, rural geriatric education, gerontology extension, Canadian health care, and independent living grants. Reports in this Series include the annual reports of the CAS (1983-1986) and a report from the Gerontology Conference meeting (n.d.). The 1980 CAS Bylaws can be found here in addition to the correspondence records of Ed Vaughan (1980-1986) and Dean Rich Oliver (1994).

This Series contains administrative and other records created and received by the Dean's Office in the School of Health Related Professions, (1968-1999). The records consist of correspondence, memoranda, reports, self studies, committee files, major field assessment reports, plans and drawings, and printed and duplicated material pertaining to the following topics: accreditation of the School's various departments, academic planning, space planning, history of the School, commencement, and convocation.

This Series contains administrative and other records created or received by the Office of the Dean of the School of Health Related Professions, (1979-2000). The records consist of faculty meeting minutes which include minutes of the Curriculum Committee. Also included in the Series are two copies of the 1984 Board of Curators Review for the School of Health Related Professions.
