There is a minimum 24-hour turn-around for requests relating to these materials. The FOI Center should be contacted with any questions, especially concerning access, about these materials:
FOI Center Historical Note: The Freedom of Information Center contains the world's largest collection of materials documenting the freedom of information movement. The Center was founded at Missouri's School of Journalism in 1958. Professor Paul Fisher began collecting file materials for the Center from newspapers, magazines, government documents, correspondence, newsletters and academic manuscripts. These files provided the foundation for Fisher's unique journalism course, Controls of Information. The files represent a four-decade history of the ongoing battle between governments, the media and various public interest groups over access to and control of information in the United States and abroad. An outline of the Center's complete files index can be found at http://nfoic.org/foi-center/center-file-index.html. The files listed in that outline have been relocated to the Archives of the University of Missouri at Columbia. More information about and resources of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Center may be found at the Center's web site, http://nfoic.org/foi-center/.
