Scope and Content Note

This Sub-Group contains records created or received by the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services or its preceding administrative unit, the Office of the Provost for Administration. Included in this Sub-Group are correspondence, committee records, Board of Curators meeting records, chancellor's staff meeting records, MU Planning Council meeting records, topical files, campus project records, Business Policy and Procedure Manual revisions and updates, and general administrative records.

This Series contains records of the University of Missouri-Columbia Office of Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services (VCAS) (1983-1995, bulk 1994-1995). Topical files include legislation; budget; business services; master planning and space projections; campus buildings, facilities, and landscaping; educational, administrative, campus, and off-campus organizations; student insurance and credit cards; Dr. Harlan Bareither; Campus Planning Consultant Jack Robinson; Bonni Bourne; and Consultant Edwin Coate. Also included in the Series are search committee records; annual reports; correspondence concerning the Show-Me-State Games, KOMU-TV, intercollegiate athletics, and various MU schools and colleges. Meeting minutes and supporting documentation are included for: the Mizzou Credit Union Annual meetings and Board of Directors meetings (1987-1992); Administrative Management Council meetings (1988-1993); VCAS Officers meetings (1983-1995); and Chancellor's Staff meetings (1986-1993). Also in this Series are records of the Alumni Center Building Committee (1988-1991) consisting of proposals, a program statement, Board Committee records, and correspondence, and planning documents. Also included in the Series are records of the Missouri Innovation Center (Missouri Ingenuity, Inc.), an organization authorized by the Missouri Legislature (1983) to facilitate the flow and application of technology from the University of Missouri and local industry into the local economy by encouraging and supporting entrepreneurial business ventures. Records of Missouri Ingenuity include correspondence (1987-1989; 1993-1995), and Board of Directors meeting minutes and supporting documentation (1986-1990; 1993-1996).

This Series contains administrative records created and received in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services, (ca. 1970-2001). The records pertain to the University of Missouri-Columbia Business Policy and Procedure Manual (BPPM) and consist of revisions and updates to the manual while it was still being produced in paper format. Also included among the records are background files on the design of the manual as well as a maintenance manual for the BPPM. The Series also includes copies of the BPPM as distributed to units across campus.
