Scope and Content Note
This Record Sub-Group contains documents, photographs, memorabilia, and audio recordings pertaining to University of Missouri Anniversaries and Dedications. Included in the Sub-Group are materials relating to the MU's Semi-Centennial Celebration (1890), Seventy-fifth Anniversary (1914), Centennial Celebration (1940), One Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary (1964), Sesquicentennial (1989), and the Morrill Land-Grant Act Centennial (1962).
Series Descriptions:
Series 1. - C:0/7/1 (11/22/1974)
This Series holds lists, correspondence, announcements, and programs pertaining to the celebration on the University of Missouri's Centennial, in 1939. Topics in the Series include early planning, committees, and coordination of student, faculty, alumni, and Founders' Day celebrations, as well as recognition of non-university groups joining in the occasion.

Series 2. - C:0/7/2 (A76-58)
This Series contains two copies of a 152 page, maroon-bound volume, compiled and edited by William J. Young (contemporary Director of University Publications). This volume details proceedings of the 1939 Celebration of the Centennial of the University of Missouri.

This Series contains news releases, photographs, documentary audio recordings, correspondence, announcements, and programs pertaining to the celebration of University of Missouri's Semi-Centennial (1890), Seventy-fifth Anniversary (1914), Centennial (1939), One Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary (1964), and Sesquicentennial (1989).

Included in this Series are a list of the University's "Founding Families," Sesquicentennial Task Force and Board of Curators' Reports, bulletins, news releases, the Sesquicentennial Opening Ceremony script, Geyer Act Banquet materials, a Sesquicentennial Commencement Program and Medallion, two Sesquicentennial Christmas tree ornaments, a desk ornament sculpture, news clippings and feature stories, and copies of Resources for Research on the University of Missouri-Columbia and The University of Missouri, 150 Years, (1986-1989).

Former Series #5 C:0/7/5 (A93-117)
UMC; University General; Sesquicentennial Traveling Exhibit Photographs and Planning Records
This Series has been enlarged to a full inventory. Please following this link to reach the inventory. This former Series consists of contemporary and historical photographs related to MU that were part of a promotional exhibition carried in the "Sesquicentennial Van." There are also drawing of the exhibit and its layout as well as a promotional poster for the celebration (1988-1990).
Note to Archivist: Series 5 was originally processed as C:0/7/NP and later changed to C:0/7/5.
Series 6. - C:0/26/1 (05/18/1978; A04-94)
This Series contains two pamphlets entitled, University of the State of Missouri Record Facts Relating to the Creation, Location and Maintenance of the College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts and the School of Mines and Metallurgy, ca 1901 (one of the copies bears a sticker labeled "Wm. F. Switzler" and contains penciled notations). Also included in this Series is a program for "he Centennial Of The Morrill Land-Grant Act and Opening Of A Land-Grant Centennial Exhibition (held at the National Archives, Washington, D.C. on April 8-10, 1962), and a program for the Missouri Assembly on Higher Education's local observance of the Land Grant Act Centennial. This Series also holds photocopies of pages from a Morrill Land-Grant Act Centennial scrapbook, (ca. 1962), that included newclippings, pamphlets, programs, and photographs relating to the Centennial.

This Series has been enlarged to a full inventory. Please following this link to reach the inventory. This former Series holds programs, invitations, correspondence, addresses and speeches, press releases and news clippings, brochures, and photographs relating to the dedications or presentations of buildings, structures, monuments and artifacts associated with the University of Missouri-Columbia (1871-1996).
Series 9. - C:0/53/2
In this Series are materials from special University of Missouri-Columbia convocations and events (1923-1968, with gaps). Included in the Series are programs, broadsheets, speeches and administrative correspondence. Among the programs are one for the University of Missouri Centennial Convocation (1939), one for the Centennial Observance of President Abraham Lincoln's signing of the Land-Grant College Act (1962), and numerous ones for Honors Convocations of the University as well as of individual Schools and Colleges. This Series also contains Announcements of Honors (1954-1962), some of which were published as University Bulletins after the Honors Convocations ceased to be held, and Honor-Rank Lists (1923-1924, 1928-1929, 1946-1947) of the College of Arts and Science.
